...to my Valentine

It's not the numerous little things that we are different,
but the few important ones that we are the same.

It's not the sweet words uttered,
but the actions that comes with it.

Thank you for being my partner
but most of all thank you for being my best friend as well.

I love you more and more each day...
(and) Thank you for loving me despite all my imperfections(sssss).

I can't thank God enough for bringing you into my life...

Kimi is building her own friendship with the kids from her play date sessions from when she was younger.

* Kalen did a drawing and
Papa Warren tried his hands at making crafty wrapping for Kimi`s gift

* Sam made a birthday video

* Kimi watching Sam`s video for the first time.

When the Clock Strikes Twelve...

We got an invite to attend a small celebration for Princess Olivia's 4th Birthday.

* Royal Invites

Of course, we accepted.

Kimi is transferring to a new school and it was a bit sad to know that she won't be seeing her old classmates on a regular basis come September.

Gabriella (Olivia's sister) was really friendly when we first came to Burnaby Montessori and I saw this cute little girl waiting in line with her mom, that was my first glimpse of Olivia. Olivia started school the next year and eventually became a friend of Kimi's as well.

We got to the venue quite early. We went to church and went straight to the venue after the service.

Since it was Summer, a lot of the parties are done outside. This is not an exception. We had the party right on the backyard of the celebrant.

Their backyard was really nice with all the toys that will surely keep any kids occupied for hours.

* Sandbox

* Bouncy Castle

* Slides and Simulated rock climbing for wee ones...

It was free play for the early part of the party.

...then Cinderella came to entertain the kids some more

* A special necklace for the celebrant

* Cinderella shared her story to all the eager kids...

* Group Picture

* Birthday Girl with Cinderella

each kid gets a chance for a photo opportunity with Cinderella as well...

* Cinderella Photo Opportunity

...then the cake cutting

* Mommy Kathy made this Cinderella cake just for the occasion

...a pinata game after

It was also nice to see Shekinah who already transferred attending the party as well.

Sam's Beach Bash

Sam's 4 and she celebrated with a party that took advantage of what the season has to offer....

The Sun.

A party at the beach was the venue and the sound of the water nearby serves as the sound to accompany the chatter of friends and family. It was a perfect day as well. Mommy Sarah's prayer to have at least one day of sunshine was answered...

* Cake Table

...and lots of foods to keep you filled until the evening

* This is just the first batch of food!!!

As soon as the girls saw each other, they huddled excitedly, as if they haven't seen each other for a long time...

* Tres Marias

Mommy G took over and watched over Shawn for awhile.

* Mommy G and Shawn

Bubbles were the first activity on the list and it kept the kids occupied...at least for awhile

* OOOOOOOOO

Alas, the main event... Beach Time...

* Got Kenzo covered to keep him
from getting more scratches and bruises

* Brooklyn and Kenzo

* Dirt lover

* Dog is a sure kid attraction

* Father and daughter moment...

* Better late than never... Pretty Carmi

Time flies so fast when you are having so much fun, and soon enough it was time to head back to our main venue for some magic!

* Kimi and Kenzo

...but before that, let me introduce you to the beach dudes who made sure the kids were safe playing

* Baywatch buddies (L-R): Steve, Wilbert, Karl and Charlie

* Baywatch Babes--ahem (L-R): Mel, Joy, Glenda, Jo

It was nice having a magician in a formal suit performing in such a laid back venue like the beach... A welcome entertainment which had the kids and the kids at heart laughing our hearts out... Some of the neighboring picnickers were even listening to the show as well.

* Magician Matthew Johnson

* Sam and Kimi got the front row seat close to the stage

* Macky doesn't seem to like having his picture taken... oops

* Love the loots and treats...

After the show, balloon twisting and ventriloquism was also done.

Last part was the blowing and cutting of the cake...

* Dy Family... and some other adopted kids in front

* Relative and friends...
and some adopted kids still in front

...and as traditions go, a group picture with the mommies

* Best support a mom could ask for: Joy, Sarah, Van, Mel (me), Glenda and Jo

Once again,
HAPPY BIRTHDAY SAM!

Monday Birthday Party

I was surprised to get an invitation for a Monday, but it made sense when I read that it was just around the corner from school so I guess it was quite practical in a way.

* Kimi ready for her day party

It was a fun and casual party at home with more than half of their classmates in attendance.

The main attraction was the...

* Trampoline

...at least it was, until someone made a surprise appearance...

* Shekinah! Former classmate
and everyone was soooo happy to see her

It was my first time to witness a birthday tradition from a different country, and what I've noticed is that they light an extra candle (age 5, candles lighted was 6) and the elders in the family feed the birthday boy a bit of cake with a kiss on the cheek.

* Birthday Cake made by Eshaan's Aunt

* Birthday Boy Eshaan

* Eshaan with his Mom and Dad
