Dinner at (Steak) Stake

I am fortunate enough to have someone (mother in law) to do the cooking for us regularly, so I was able to focus more on other home stuffs I need to attend to but when they went for a long overdue vacation, I go for a mini panic attack, thinking of meals that I can make for my family without sacrificing too much time preparing them.

I am so glad that I got friends every time I get into those situation.

The first time that my friends were tested was when I was expecting Kenzo anytime and hubby and Kimi was the only family I had with me. My friend, Sarah, stepped up to babysit Kimi while I gave birth and send me food as soon as I came home from the hospital. My friend, Glenda, made sure that I got all baby items covered and had everything readied for me even before Kenzo came out of my womb.

This time around, Mommy Joy, took the time out of her busy schedule to make easy recipe available for me on her website (CLICK HERE) just so I would have some sort of a recipe when my trusted recipes are all used up. I am so touched with this little gesture of kindness. Mommy Jo, on the other hand, gave me some reliable websites to turn to as well for reference.

As for our dinner,

We had to check on what was left on our fridge and we got a pack of Tenderloin Filet Mignon. We decided to make a dinner based on the steak.

Stone and Twinny came to our rescue on Friday's dinner, they went all out and came to our house to share meals with us.Stone did the cooking mainly, while I did the dessert (Strawberry Cream Cheese Cupcake) and the starter (mashed potato). Doing Double Dine In Date doubles up the fun and divides the work entailed in preparing something regular and make it much more special. Eron was able to come and join us as well.

Let us see what else we can conjure for our meals as my mother in law enjoys a month (or more) of vacation in the Philippines. I am open for more suggestions ;)

(Cyber) Home Sweet (Cyber) Home

It was time for a change, and I decided to put in a quote in my new banner.

It is a part of me anyway. I've always loves one-liners and actually do a journal in quotes during my younger days just to record my mood for the day. Just as one-liners are a part of me, my family, is the biggest part of me and it is just as fitting to put all of them in my banner to summarize what our site is all about- Family, Love, Memories...

I am so happy to announce as well that I finally got my own domain!

Long overdue since I've been maintaining this site for a long time and has been using Treasured MOM-ents as my header but not as my address. I finally took a leap and purchased the domain when I saw that it was not as expensive as I once thought... and I am so ecstatic about the address I have been visiting my site just to see the site address appear...

That's it for now. I finally got myself a cyber address to call my own :)

Joyful Indulgences

Our friend, Joy, decided to get herself a site with the purpose of documenting her journey of baking.

You can accompany her through her journey of learning by visiting her site or maybe just ogle at her goodies and wish that we had that kind of talent in us. She will also share a bit of herself in this site as well as some recipes that we may follow in her footsteps of being a whiz in the kitchen, or in my case, creating something that is eat-able :) he he!

* First batch of Joyful Indulgences

I got my orders via Jo. Thank you for the personal delivery that took you from Surrey to my doorstep in Burnaby. See how great my mommy friends are? I can't sing enough praises about them.

I got them to share because eating them on my own would be selfish. Half goes to hubby's office and half to mine. It was right just in time for someone's birthday in our office and he was oh so happy to try a Filipino delicacy, and more so, when I told him that a friend baked it for this occasion ;).

YUMMY!

Protecting My Child’s Innocence « MrsG’s Other Life

I read a disturbing entry about racism in New Zealand. I hope other mommies won't experience something like this... STOP RACIAL DISCRIMINATION.
