Blades 3- PASSED!

Kimi and Kenzo was working on their levels and until the last day, only Kimi passed which was not surprising as Kenzo was having a hard time following instructions during this set.

Kimi passed BLADES 3 which is a program for ages 6-12. Kimi came from Gliders 4 but since she already turned 5, it as converted to Blades which was equivalent to Blades Level 3.

What do you need to complete to pass Blades Level 3?

T-pushwith one foot glide three counts
T-push to inside edge
Forward sculling
Backward sculling
Forward stopping (10/10 times)
Backward stopping (8/10 times)
One foot glide inside edge, three counts

Steph's Pole Dancing Stagette

Before you start thinking, Pole Dancing?!

This is a perfectly wholesome stagette with Pole Dancing instructor to teach us the basic of pole dancing as a form of exercise and keeping fit. Yes, it does involve a bit of sexy moves as much as the next dance and it was really lots of fun... although my body was aching all over the next day and a lot of bruises to show for. I guess I not so graceful on the pole or maybe just needs a bit more practice he he!

Arenex Queen's Park: Intro to Gymnastics- PASSED!

This year, Kimi started doing gymnastic during school season. She first got a taste of gymnastic during Summer at Cartwheels in Richmond and another Summer at Phoenix Gym for a week each.

She seems to like it but she got some things on her plate then and I didn't want to fill up her days with activities so we opted to wait it out.

Winter Gymnastic started January with 10 classes ending mid March. Kimi was excited as she was doing the class with two of her best buddies in school. They all ended with the recommendation to go for the next level come March end. YEY!

I love the fact that Kimi seems to be more confident with all the equipments inside the gym by the end of her classes  and she truly enjoyed the class a lot.

Intro to Gliders and Gliders 4 Passed!

For the skating lesson, we decided to continue them at Bill Copeland, Burnaby.

One of the reason is LOCATION. Killarney is quite a drive from Kimi's new school. Kalen is on the Child class while Kimi was still in the Pre School age group so they are now on different classes.

As for the TIME, I found a same time class for both Kimi and Kenzo which works well for me.

DAYS, I have an issue with though, it is 2x a week compared to Killarney's 1x a week but we made it through...

COMPLETE ATTENDANCE :)

and...

* They go up to the next level- YEY!

Doing Cartwheels

This week is Kinder Half Day Camp at Cartwheels. I get to drive 2 kids to and from Richmond for a week with just a GPS as my guide, trying to be calm whenever they got that urge to do a screaming match  in the highway while I am figuring out which exit to use next.

* Personalized Cubbies

One of the reason, I decided to try gymnastic for Kimi all the way in Richmond was that she got one of her bff, Sam with her as her gym mate and it was nice to have a friendly face to chat with while waiting for the kids.

* Cartwheels view from the top (viewing area)

* Stretches to start the class

The Cartwheel program includes a free rein of the whole gym area with all the gym apparatus, foam pit and a trampoline to use and enjoy. It also includes arts and crafts, games and even a short movie on some days.

* ARTS AND CRAFTS *

* Coffee Filter Earth

* Puffy Paint

* Invisible Pictures

* FOOD CRAFT *

Fitness for Less(er)

A new fitness place has opened and just in time... Hubby's membership from the nearby community center has just expired and it ended a few days before this new one opens... COINCIDENCE? The best part is the price... A One time Registration fee of less than $100- $99.68 to be exact with all the tax and membership card, then you just get a monthly fee of $14.99/ month. Cheaper than the community center.

I've encouraged hubby to go back to gym cause this gives him a way to relax and get away from work and fatherhood. It gives him a sense of himself once again and he comes home a better dad and hubby when he is relaxed. :)
