Gastropost Vancouver: Get Saucy, March 2014

I've always photographed my food when we go out to eat, and I usually post them in food related sites just for the fun of it actual taste.

During one of my regular post of food pictures in Instagram, Gastropost commented on an entry and I decided to go and give it a try.

Register and you get a food mission, sort of like a theme of picture they need for the paper and when you get chosen, you get a chance to be featured on newspaper, THE PROVINCE.

I did, and without really expecting to, I went with the motion of posting 2 pictures with the theme #getsaucy, which was food that has sauces on the spotlight. One picture did get in and I am so surprised that it actually made it into the papers. A small spot, but it is THERE!

Blades 3- PASSED!

Kimi and Kenzo was working on their levels and until the last day, only Kimi passed which was not surprising as Kenzo was having a hard time following instructions during this set.

Kimi passed BLADES 3 which is a program for ages 6-12. Kimi came from Gliders 4 but since she already turned 5, it as converted to Blades which was equivalent to Blades Level 3.

What do you need to complete to pass Blades Level 3?

T-pushwith one foot glide three counts
T-push to inside edge
Forward sculling
Backward sculling
Forward stopping (10/10 times)
Backward stopping (8/10 times)
One foot glide inside edge, three counts

La Roche Posay: Itch Free Day Drawing Contest 2014

I came across La Roche Posay as I was browsing through our local Shopper's drug mart and I like how the products are Paraben-free and Fragrance-free. I have been using several products before that and was on the lookout for something that would give me a better handling of my kid's eczema. I saw the cute packaging and and then I saw the contest.

My daughter, Kimi, decided to give it a go and drew a picture of our family with her idea of how an itch free day looks like to her... I decided to scan it and give it a go and decided to use Facebook to ask friends from all over the world to vote for her drawing. Some of our friends were kind enough to share the link on their page.

We did not end up with the most vote but I was sure that we got into the upper 10 most voted pictures. It will be up to the judge this time to see which drawing deserves the place on their limited edition bottles for winter and the $325 worth of prizes.

March 17th came and went, we were curious as to why no winners has been announced yet. My husband was quite excited and kept on checking the site if there was any winners already.

March 18th, my husband texted me that Kimi won the first price with a big smile at the end of his text. I thought he was joking as there was a lot of nice drawings as well but there it was, our little girl did win.

* Kimberline C.'s version of an itch free day

Congratulations to the 2nd to 5th winner. You all did such a great job!!!

...as for La Roche Posay Canada? Thank you for giving our daughter a chance to prove herself with her drawing...

Steph's Pole Dancing Stagette

Before you start thinking, Pole Dancing?!

This is a perfectly wholesome stagette with Pole Dancing instructor to teach us the basic of pole dancing as a form of exercise and keeping fit. Yes, it does involve a bit of sexy moves as much as the next dance and it was really lots of fun... although my body was aching all over the next day and a lot of bruises to show for. I guess I not so graceful on the pole or maybe just needs a bit more practice he he!

Arenex Queen's Park: Intro to Gymnastics- PASSED!

This year, Kimi started doing gymnastic during school season. She first got a taste of gymnastic during Summer at Cartwheels in Richmond and another Summer at Phoenix Gym for a week each.

She seems to like it but she got some things on her plate then and I didn't want to fill up her days with activities so we opted to wait it out.

Winter Gymnastic started January with 10 classes ending mid March. Kimi was excited as she was doing the class with two of her best buddies in school. They all ended with the recommendation to go for the next level come March end. YEY!

I love the fact that Kimi seems to be more confident with all the equipments inside the gym by the end of her classes  and she truly enjoyed the class a lot.
