Spring Break (Almost) Free or Free Activities around Burnaby/Vancouver 2015

It is that time of the year wherein the flowers are showing up all around Vancouver and it is finally "Spring". Together with the season is the one week break from school and kids asking what the plans are. It could actually add up especially for parents who works and has to find camps that are way expensive. I , on the other hand, am looking up for ways to make the break fun yet something that wouldn't let me go break up the piggy bank.

Toonie Matinees at Landmark

I love the movie theater at Landmark, New Westminster. It's fairly new, near a skytrain, very clean and comfortable chairs. Plus add the fact that you can watch a movie at $2 and that includes the tax!

TUESDAYS SPECIALS plus DISNEY FROZEN SHORT FILM

There are a lot of places to walk around that area as well and maybe afterwards, go back for the much anticipated Cinderella.

Free Weekend at Science World 2013

Science World just got renovated recently and I was quite curious as to how it has improved from before. A friend of mine told me that they are having a free entrance weekend and I was sold. Rain or shine, we went on with the plan.

A lot of people seem to have the same ideas as we did, and it was a full house. We decided to take a quick walk around the area and choose which area we would like to spend time in.

My favourite area was Keva. Keva are wood planks cut identically and stack based on your imagination. You could build anything your brain could imagine.

Kimi's favourite friend from school also came to join us, Avril and little sister, Natalia. They had a bit of time at the Kid's Playground and had tons of fun there.

It was fun to spend the day playing and learning at the same time.

Summer Coolers and Beauty Freebies

One of the nearest place we love to hang out is the mall.

Metrotown has it all. Great selections on store from beauty, clothes, shoes. A perfect place to get away from the summer heat and do some refreshment and shopping.

Because of the heat, we decided to stop first at Pinkberry

Then we decided to kill time at Chapters with the table train that Kenzo loves so much....

My friend, Nico (Thanks Nico!), told me of a nice freebie from Sephora...

I was actually thinking of buying this particular lip treatment because of how good it smells and I actually need it to keep my lips from chapping but Sephora game me a mini lip duo for free and I should say I love it so much that it is something that's worth a purchase.

Mother's Day, Bopomo got a free mini session which I thought was a great deal to pass up on.

We finally got our prints this weekend and since I am a sucker for nice prints especially for Kenzo who's always on the go...

I got sucked into getting a couple of prints which cost me... let's not get into that :(

In the olden days...

I love going back to Burnaby Village Museum instead of a normal park because it is FREE (until September 5, 2011) plus it's quite near :) so... here is another visit we had for the 1st of August.

* Costumed people roaming the village as well to add to the old feel of the place

* Old Fashioned Establishments

* An ice cream parlor that actually served ice cream and some other snacks

* Happy to have her Sugar High

* Kimi shares her blessing ;)

* Sharing some cold treats with Auntie Twinny

There were some eco-sculptures within the vicinity of the Village as well...

You'd never go wrong with a FREE ride with the Old Fashioned Carousel.

Burnaby Village Museum: Free for 40

I've been eyeing Burnaby Village Museum for awhile now but always stopped myself from going because I always thought that the there was an entrance fee and that Kimi might be too young to enjoy these kind of places. Besides, I was thinking that since she is now going to school, she is bound to have a field trip there anyway...

I am really glad to finally got the chance to check it out for free... Because it's their 40th year, Burnaby Village Museum entrance fee are waived until Labour Day (September 5, 2011). Yihee!
