CNY @ Aberdeen

We wanted to experience the Chinese New Year but wanted it indoor because we wanted to be warm and comfortable as well.

Aberdeen was the best bet in experiencing the event and the rest of Richmond had the same idea, because I've never seen Aberdeen with this much people

There was a variety of entertainment available throughout the day for the enjoyment of the shoppers from dragon dance performing from store to store and different acrobatic dances showcasing their moves onstage.

The wide walkway was cramped with makeshift stalls that sells Chinese desserts, trinkets and decors just for the event. There were also posters with Chinese sayings as giveaways for those who want something of the event to remember by.

...there was also face painting from the Shaw booth that face paints your sign... or whatever animals you wanted.

Summer Coolers and Beauty Freebies

One of the nearest place we love to hang out is the mall.

Metrotown has it all. Great selections on store from beauty, clothes, shoes. A perfect place to get away from the summer heat and do some refreshment and shopping.

Because of the heat, we decided to stop first at Pinkberry

Then we decided to kill time at Chapters with the table train that Kenzo loves so much....

I was actually thinking of buying this particular lip treatment because of how good it smells and I actually need it to keep my lips from chapping but Sephora game me a mini lip duo for free and I should say I love it so much that it is something that's worth a purchase.

My brother in law finally arrived from Washington D.C. (work-related)  with a whole luggage of papers. He's visiting and made himself comfortable in the big dining table- to work.

Weekday came and Kendrick finally got to take a breather and  joined us for a stroll in the mall.

Trick or Treat 2011- Brentwood Mall

It was a very busy day for me today. I went in early for work to get my late afternoon open for an early trick or treat with the kids.

After picking up Kimi from school, we proceeded to Brentwood Mall to do the Trick or Treat which started at 4pm. We arrived just in time for us to get into Trick or Treat as soon as we entered. 

I am so happy to say that Kenzo finally agreed to let me put the head part of the costume on him. It was a cookie that got him distracted and he forgot that the head part was already on top of his head... Yey! 

I forgot the SLR camera though and had to make do with a compact camera. Good Luck in taking action photo with a slow clicking cam :( This is the reason for the motions in majority of the pictures.

Kenzo got right into the candies in the bucket game. He forgot how bulky his costume is and started going up into the counters to ask for his treats. He went so far as to copy and give candies to the ones giving him candies. Haha!

It was hard to do a lot of pictures with all the excitement but of course, I got my fair share of pictures to remember this event.

Two old friends, meet again...

Heidi is an old friend of mine. We attended the same college but became friends when we became co-workers at Dexterton Corporation (then Dexterton Industrial Corporation). Both of us graduated Interior Design and was given the still new furniture category to look after. We had the whole 6th floor to ourselves and I was a witness to the courtship between Adrian and Heidi which eventually led to marriage. They now have two beautiful daughters. She was as well a witness and some sort of a bridge to me and my hubby, Karl. Heidi is actually a very good friend of mine even after I resigned from work.

 I was also the Maid of Honor in their wedding back in 2006.

Heidi and I have a lot in common. We have the same moral and I guess think in the same wavelength. I love talking to her and she gives really good and practical advice. One more thing we have in common is that we marry same year and the gap between our two kids is almost 2 years. Heidi gave birth September 2007 and 2009. I, on the other hand, gave birth December 2007 and 2009. Heidi`s second daughter is my goddaughter.
