Back to the Yesteryears...

My mom (and brothers) came here for a short 3 weeks visit and because we teased our mom that this vacation was for her. We actually decided on a couple of shows that my mom would surely enjoy and remember from before.

This was highly recommended by my brother, Eric. Jersey Boys and Frank Valli do rang a bell and I decided to go for it when I found a ticket on sale for a weekday spot. I told my mom that we are watching Jersey Boys and she said she doesn't know what Jersey Boys was... Ooops! To make the long story short, we did enjoy the show (a lot) with the rest of the senior citizens in the audience. I guess a lot of the younger set of audience decided to watch a different play that they are more familiar with. My youngest brother was blown away with this play and the songs that goes with it. Rated AAA :)

We also decided to do another oldies but goodies show for our Vegas trip. Australian Bee Gees looked like a promising show with a good rating online so we went for this.

My youngest brother looked wide eyed and out of place as they sang their songs but he ended up enjoying when he heard some songs that he finally knew which was a total of 2-3 songsl. Me and my younger brother, Eric knew a bit more but my mom enjoyed it and danced to the last few songs by the end of the show.

We also got the chance to take a picture with the Australian Bee Gees... Mom was like a Starstruck fan excited to get a picture taken with the group lol

July Summer Classes @ Burnaby 2012

I'm especially excited with the start of summer as schedules finally opened up for Kimi (and Kenzo) to do some week-long activities that will keep them active and occupied. I got them different activities with the hopes that they will find something that will really appeal to them, and if it does, a long term registration of that particular activity is an option when the school year finally starts.

There are more activities this year for Kimi's age and what I did was I got the music teacher's class from Kimi's summer music class last year which Kimi enjoyed immensely, for Kenzo this year. The program for the younger set is called Young Tunes (July 3-6, 2012). It was a win win situation for the reason that Kimi can sit in while Kenzo does his class, so if Kenzo decided not to be that cooperative in the class, I am pretty sure Kimi, at least, will be participating.

As for Kimi, I got the Creative Dance for 4yo (July 9-13, 2012) which was highly recommended by our cousin and the Art Explorers (July 9-13, 2012) in Burnaby Art Gallery which was an art class using different media and an artwork/inspiration from an artist to based the day's work.

For the week that Kenzo didn't have any class, we spent the day waiting for Kimi with the whole Shadbolt and Burnaby Art Gallery as his personal playground. Although it was hard to be running after him, he was quite happy coming with me everyday and it was worth it in a way. It was our own time to bond...outdoor this time.

Music for Young Children

I got a good deal for a one hour class from Music for young Children from Indulge Living

I figured out a trial class would be good way for her to test the waters on which music class for her to enroll into.I noticed that she loves singing to herself when she is bored...and since singing is close to my heart but not one of my talents, I wanted to open that door to Kimi and see if she has that talent hidden inside passed on to her from my mom and youngest brother, Ken.

Karaoke Time!

Finally got the MIDI Player my mom keeps on raving about.. One CD with hundreds of songs... I am still figuring out though how I can fit singing into my daily schedules but really love it :)
* The Song Book

Thanks Mom!

Kimi is using it as a DVD player for now and it really is useful since we don't have a player in the other room :). She also tried the Hokey Pokey song but then the Video images that accompanies the song is not so kiddie at all he he! I am still figuring out if I can adjust th setting to fix that issue..
