You're having my Baby

I came across the song "You're having my baby", the Glee version...

Maybe it is the hormone, or maybe it was the worry of the baby position but I was really moved with the lyrics... I wish my hubby has this kind of sentiment as he looks at me he he! Wishful thinking....

You're having my baby,
What a lovely way of saying how much you love me,
You're having my baby,
What a lovely way of saying what you're thinking of me

I can see it, your face is glowing,
I can see it in your eyes, I'm happy you know it

That you're having my baby,
Your the woman I love, & I love what it's doing to ya,
You're Having my baby,
You're a woman in love and I love what's going through ya,

The need inside you, I see it showing,
Oh the seed inside you,
Baby do you feel it growing,

Are you happy you know it,
That your having my Baby,
Your the woman I love, & I love what it's doing to ya,
You're Having my baby,
You're a woman in love and I love what's going through ya,

Didn't have to keep it, wouldn't put you through it,
You could of swept it from your live,
but you wouldn't do it, no you wouldn't do it.

And your having my Baby,
Your the woman I love, & I love what it's doing to ya,
You're Having my baby,
You're a woman in love and I love what's going through ya,

you're having my Baby,
Your the woman I love, & I love what it's doing to ya,
And You're Having my baby,
You're a woman in love and I love what's going through ya,

Yeah You're Having my baby,

It was a new technology and naturally we wanted to meet the baby so so much so we decided to shell out our salaries for this 4d meeting...

The difference between the 3d and 4d ultrasound? It was just the movement. 3d are stills while the 4d has movement. I was happy that we did the 4d, K got to see for himself just how active his baby is. I kept on telling him that I am feeling an inner roller coaster this time around and I am happy that he can now see for himself because even the sonographer was commenting how she can;t get a picture of Baby K because of his constant movement.

BLEH!
...with all the prodding in my stomach
to keep his hands off from his face,
he finally relented but not before
Baby K finally stuck out his tongue

BORING!
...Baby K is getting bored from the inside
There is nothing to see here!!!

BOY!
Just like a typical man
...he shows off his assets

Som Visao: A Haven for the stressed body

I got an early backache for my second pregnancy. It doesn't help that I do work at night on top of the house chores and taking care of Little Active Kimi.

I was really aiming for a massage but was surprised how much a prenatal massage costs... (around $65 for an hour and around $89 for a 45 minute session). I fould out though that I can actually claim a huge percentage from K's health benefit through his company. Alas! A SIGN!

I googled for a place that offers pre-natal massage which I could surely claim and found out that the health benefit we have only honors RMT (Registered Massage Therapist). I was actually scheduled for a massage with a CMT (Certtified Massage Therapist, Whew!), I cancelled and decided to go with Som Viseo because I specifically saw the name of Great West Life in their site.

Now, I just need those coupons to have an additional discount for my 4d ultrasound... They give out a maximum of $20 for referral and I actually reached the maximum through subscribing ($10), referral through K's address ($5) and Kimi ($5). MISSION ACCOMPLISHED :)

Relax time for Mama mio

It was a pampering day for me and K last weekend of October the 3rd

I was so excited to be able to experience the new 4d technology in order to see Little Karl in action and decided to bring Kimi along with us to make it a family affair. We have scheduled for a 1pm 4d Ultrasound, 2:30 Pre natal Massage for me and a 30min Regular Massage for K after me.

I was pleasantly surprised when I was given a gift card by the receptionist as soon as I uttered my name...

Thanks SAB!!!

It really took a chunk off our huge bill for that day hehe!!!

I couldn't have thought of a better pre-baby gift :)

...A Boy- this time around :)

I am so glad I could finally use this image which I found on the internet way back before I had my ultrasound. I didn't want to jump into conclusion then but had to peek at the images available if in case it did turned out to be a baby boy this time...

I have to admit though that during my ultrasound, I also made a superhuman effort to concentrate on all the things the sonologist has been typing in the hope of getting a clue on the gender of my baby, and when I saw her type "XY", I tried to contain my excitement because if memory serves me right, it means boy... hmmm, but then, doubt began to enter my mind and I tried to think of any other relevance to XY to an ultrasound. It is quite impossible that it is for the coordinates of something because that is the only XY that I can connect it to.

I had to wait 4 days though before I can finally breathe and confirm from the doctor that, YES! IT IS FINALLY A BOY... I got it right :)

Blood Test

There is a new test being done to pregnant women this time of my pregnancy. It is called the SIPS test which is consist of having two blood tests to check the probability of a baby's chance for a birth defect. Although this is optional, I did try completing the first blood test with no drama.

My second blood test was a different story. I got poked 3 x bby 3 different Medical technicians at 3 different locations and they can't seem to locate my vein. It was too small according to them :(.The thing is they poked me once and once inside they had to pull it out a bit and try at different angles to find the vein. I could almost feel my blood draining out from what they were doing... I am scared of needles and doing it for three times with no success was a trauma for me... When they couldn't get blood from the normal spot they tried getting them from my hand. They also do the pulling out strategy then finding an angle then putting it in again... Aaargh! Poor hand. And all they can say was that- They were sorry and if I would like to be poked for the fourth time....!?

Oh no! I am getting out of there! They say three times a charm but I guess all of them doesn't have it in them to make it work :( it was a waste of my time.... Sigh* I am actually considering not doing the SIPS Test altogether. I didn;t realize that it was just an option until I already got the two requisition form with me...

Baby's 1st Picture

I never thought I'd get emotional over my 2nd baby's ultrasound.

I sort of thought that since I've had one already, this would just be ordinary. Boy! Was I wrong. I didn't know why looking at my baby's black and white picture on the screen was making tears roll down uncontrollably down my cheeks... I wish K was with me to see this memorable moment

Maybe the thought of finally seeing it move and its hand curling to cover it's face....I am referring the baby as an "it" because I am not yet sure about the gender...

...I will soon... :) I HOPE!

Struggling to be a mom....still

I wish that after being a hands on and full time mom for 18 months,
I can finally say that have mastered how to handle my baby...
...but, I can't
and with a baby soon to be around by the year's end,
I am overwhelmed by the additional amount of adjustments that will be coming
my way, our way as a family...

"Motherhood brings as much joy as ever,
but it still brings boredom, exhaustion, and sorrow too.
Nothing else ever will make you as happy or as sad, as proud or as tired,
for nothing is quite as hard as helping a person develop his own individuality
especially while you struggle to keep your own."

- Marguerite Kelly and Elia Parsons

What would the next one be?

One more week to go and we will finally know if our Kimi will be having a little brother o little sister.
K doesn;t mind having a girl. Me? I am really not so sure which I like more. I would love for Kimi to have a sister she can grown up with but I would love to have a baby boy to dress up as little K. It would be a new experience having a boy this time because we already expereienced having a girl. We are hand on parents from the day she was handed to us. My little Kimi co sleeps with me from day one up to present. Although it may be frustrating at times, I just couldn't sleep without her near me.

I love the way she curls up to me at night and wakes up and says mommy?! mommy! first thing in the morning, if I do feign sleep, she would kiss me on my lips and try to force my eyes open with her little fingers...

...July 13th. And finally we will be able to choose names next :)

Baby at 15 Weeks...

15 weeks pregnant

http://www.babycenter.ca/

Starting this week, any stomach rumblings you feel may be your baby trying out some acrobatics, since she can now move all her limbs. She's also becoming sensitive to light. If you shine a flashlight at your belly, she's likely to move away from the beam. Anxious to know whether she's really a she or actually a he? Your baby's external genitals are probably developed enough by now that an ultrasound technician could make a good guess at the sex. An amniocentesis and blood work is often recommended at this stage (about 16 weeks) for women over 35 and those who have a family history of birth abnormalities. It's also a test that can tell you for certain whether you're expecting a girl or a boy... if you want to know.

That goes to show that it isn't just my imagine and it really is the baby finally doping acrobatics inside me....hhhmmm. The gender of my baby will be known on the July 12th :)

I wonder if Kimi is having a baby sister or a baby brother...

...and I finally found Kimi's pregnancy calendar :)
I was due December 14th then.... this time? December 13th.... Hmmmm... Big chance of getting the same birthday.... A DOUBLE CELBRATION?

INFANT-icipating

We are pregnant!

And it was finally confirmed when I had my first checkup yesterday. At first, I thought that I had simply missed a month's period but when 2 more months passed and there is still no period, I finally had to schedule for a confirmation...

I finally had a checkup with Dr. Shelley Ross, they say that she is the best doctor for expectant mommies here in Burnaby and I completely felt at ease with her when I got to meet her. She was thorough with her explanation that when she asked me if I had any questions, I couldn't think of any because she has answered all of them within the few minutes of meeting her.

I had my first physical examination which consists of a pap smear, internal examination and the checking of the baby's heartbeat. The heartbeat was really strong and I am happy to finally say that it has became real to me when I heard those strong beats from the baby's little heart...

...as for Kimi? She kisses my tummy and says- Baby? as if she understand the concept that there is a whole new life inside me and she knows that she is going to be a big sister, soon.

I am now 3 months and the baby is due on Dec 12th. Uhmmm... The baby might decide to share Kimi's bday but I hope it doesn't ;) just so they could each have a special day of their own.
