Makeshift office

I am so lucky that I got a very understanding boss who agreed that I work at home...

I know this doesn't look like the most organized workstation but it will do ;)

Multi tasking is a part of being a working mommy. Just look at the toys, breast pump included in the work area. Everything just had to be within reach anytime the baby suddenly demands for it.

It's all Se-a-ttled...

Finally! We got a solid date (February 20) to spend overnight in Seattle with Kimi. It will be all about her this time... Quality time with just mommy and daddy :)

I missed those times when it was just her, and I promised myself that we will always make quality bonding time for each of them. We finally secured for a place to stay (yey!). Our next step? The itinerary. Suggestions!!!

So far we planned to pass by the zoo in Seattle before the check in time of 3pm.

Peek a boo..i got a baby boy!

Look who is my youngest visitor when I had my baby boy last December 17th???

Little Sam got reunited with playmate Kimi. Mommy Sarah was kind enough to play babysitter for the day as I grunt and push in an effort to deliver baby #2.

Sam definitely wasn't tired of playing and decided to make use of the big area of the private room to continue the game they had left unfinished at home... Kimi gamely becomes the "it" as Sam runs after her screaming peek a boo.... It was confusing whether they were playing "it" or hide and seek. Whatever it was, it was fun to see them getting along in their own little world.

There you are...

I am coming to get you...

Hahaha!!! Aaaaah the screaming fest of two toddler and 1 newborn

The Perfect Woman

Since I just posted an entry on a Korean movie, "The Perfect Man", Is there such a thing?! This story is from Paulo Coelho...

Nasrudin was talking to a friend, who asked him:

‘Have you never considered getting married, Mullah?’

‘I have,’ replied Nasrudin. ‘In my youth, I resolved to find the perfect woman. I crossed the desert and reached Damascus, and I met a lovely, very spiritual woman, but she knew nothing of the world. I continued my journey and went to Isfahan; there I met a woman who knew both the spiritual and the material world, but she was not pretty. Then I decided to go to Cairo, where I dined in the house of a beautiful woman, who was both religious and a connoisseur of material reality.’

‘Why didn’t you marry her, then?’

‘Alas, my friend, she was looking for the perfect man.’

...sometimes we try to look for a lot of things in our partner when we have to start within ourselves first. I believe that there is no perfect anyone and as one quote states:

My Imperfect hubby, perfect for me though :)

"True love does not come by finding the perfect person, but by learning to see an imperfect person perfectly."

Seducing Mr.Perfect

It's been awhile since I've watched a Korean movie and had no idea I got one in my usb (Thanks to Eric, who transferred some dl movies for me to watch when I finally got some time...). I was feeding Kenzo when I decided to check if my usb has something short that I can watch and enjoy.Take note "short", when you got a baby your time for yourself are all short, I don't think I ever manage to complete a whole movie at home without some sort of interruption...

Wait, back to the Korean movie. It was entitled "Seducing Mr. Perfect" and I originally thought that it was an English movie from it's title. It was a romantic comedy with subtitles which fit me perfectly... One more thing about being a mom is that Tv volumes go down when there is a baby sleeping which makes the subtitles a must-have.

All the actors in this movie were new to me. I like the lead guy in particular and I think the role suit him perfectly... Here is a synopsis of the dvd I copied from a website: asia torrents

Minjun works at a foreign-based M&A firm, possesses a cool personality, stays on the forefront of fashion, and flashes appeal that allows her to succeed in work and love. She eagerly awaits a vacation in Hong Kong to spend time with her boyfriend, but is left hanging alone upon her arrival. Upon closer look, it becomes painfully evident that the tides of romance are not in her favor as her true romantic success rate is zero.

However, the pain of the broken heart is short lived when she runs into, literally via car accident on her way to work in the morning, the exquisitely appointed Robin Hayden. Minjun pulls out her bag of tricks in an effort to extract herself from having to pay for his auto repairs, but finds herself one-upped by Robin, who obtains accurate evidence in a split second with his mobile phone camera and goes quietly on his way. Something about the whole situation eats away at Minjun, and the cause becomes justified as she learns that this perfect guy who came into her life so abruptly is the newly appointed CEO of her firm!! So what if he is a foreigner? He holds a JD/MBA from Harvard Law School, is fluent in five languages, and is a brilliant M&A professional. What?s more, he possesses a chiseled figure and movie-star looks that makes all the female employees wilt in his presence.

Having gotten off on the wrong foot, Minjun tries her best to avoid him, but finds herself assigned as his assistant on a new project. She endures frequent and petty criticisms along the way, and is challenged one day by this man, who is bemused by her clumsy romantic skills, when he proposes, ?Why don?t you try seducing me?? This is the final straw for Minjun and her wounded pride, and thus begins her new ambitious project.

2010 Banner

I decided to change the banner for the start of the year... Winter Theme and Love theme to replace the old Christmas banner...

I am so excited to see the things that are done for the Olympics... More places to take pictures of and mores places to see and experience...

GO VANCOUVER!

Love according to "The Prophet"

Let's talk about love this month... I love this piece a lot and I want to share it with u...

Extracts from “The Prophet”

In his book “The Prophet,” Khalil Gibran tells the story of Al-Mustafá, a man who returns to his homeland. The inhabitants of the village where he has spent all those years ask him to teach what he has learned.
Below are some of the (edited) extracts from this classic of the 20th century:

Matrimony

You were born together and together you will be when the white wings of death end your days because you will remain united in the silent memory of God.
But let there be room between the two. Let the wind of the skies pass through your bodies.
Love, but do not turn love into bondage.
Let one of you fill the other’s glass, but may you never drink from the same glass.
Sing and dance, be happy, but let each of you keep your independence; the cords of the lute are single, although they resound to the same music.
Surrender your heart, but not for the other to possess – because only the hand of Life can hold full hearts.
Be together, but not too together – because the pillars of a temple are separated.
The oak does not grow in the shadow of the cypress, and the cypress cannot grow in the shadow of the oak.

Children

Your children are not your children; they are the sons and daughters of life. They came through you, but do not belong to you.
They can give you their love, but not their thoughts – because they have their own dreams.
You can protect their bodies, but not their souls – because their souls inhabit the house of tomorrow, which not even in dream can you visit.
You can try to be like them, but do not try to make them behave like you; because life does not go backwards, nor is it seduced by yesterdays.
You are the bow from where your children, like living arrows, are shot forward; let the hand of the Archer do its work, because just as He loves the arrow that flies, He also loves the bow that stays still.

Love

When love calls, accept its call, even if the road is rough and difficult.
And when your wings open up, surrender yourselves, even if the spade that lies there hidden ends up wounding one of you.
And when love says something, believe it, even if its voice destroys your dreams like the Northern wind devastates the gardens.
Because love glorifies and crucifies. It makes the branches grow and then trims them. It crushes men until they are flexible and docile. It burns them in divine fire so that they can convert into sacred bread to be served at God’s banquet.
However, if you are afraid and want to find in love only peace and pleasure, better that you stay away from the door and seek some other world where you will be able to laugh but without any joy, and cry but without using up all your tears.
Love gives nothing and asks for nothing besides itself. Love neither possesses nor is possessed – because it suffices to itself.
And do not try to direct its course – because love thinks that you are worthy, it will lead you to where you have to go.

Kid activity

This year, I vow to insert atleast one kid activity for Kimi per week... (And try to inject one grownup only activity per wk as well.) It is our "girls only" day which I get to enjoy with her aside from the playdate we usually reserve per wk.

So far, we had a walk session which ended up with a cup of coffee at waves, we had 3 library visit, one of which, was spent inside with several kids with a free program of storytime through musics for toddlers...and an impromptu playdate.

First visit, Kimi and Sam2 discovered the cool magnetic board

Second visit, Kimi and Sam2 discovered the kid friendly tables and chair

What did we (mommy) discover from these walks? It's fun to do it with fellow mommy, makes the time pass quickly :).
