Wordless Wednesday: Thomas Haas Date

Oh Canada!

After years of adjusting here in Canada, hubby has finally taken the oath and progressed from being a Resident Card Holder to a Full-Fledged Canadian :)

* Judge

I decided to get the kids to witness the event, despite the numerous trip from the lady asking Kenzo to tone down a bit.

* Little Witnesses

Kimi found a playmate in her seatmate, Perla.
* Kimi and Perla

Such a proud moment...

 * Kimi waving numerous flags

*Showing my loyalty through my clothes

There was  a photo opportunity afterwards, which hubby thankfully participated.

* Judge picked up Kimi happily,
 seeing how Canadian they both dressed

* The New Canadian :)

CONGRATULATIONS HUBBY

Vancouver International Children's Festival

It's a kid's centered weekend for us this week. From a Day with Thomas, we went to Granville Island next day to join the event which was Vancouver International Children's Festival.

I always felt a sense of Deja Vu whenever I visit this event for the reason that I volunteered as a face painter crew year 2007 while Kimi was still inside my tummy.

Of course, I brought my big camera but I forgot to take the battery away from the charger so I relied on my iphone for some photos which translates to no photo of Kenzo as he is always moving... :(

* Free activities within the VICF

* More free activities

Day Out with Thomas 2012

One thing Kenzo is crazy about at this phase is his Thomas trains. He loves his trains and goes to sleep holding his train in each hand and if there is more, he'd stuck trains between each fingers to maximize his hand. You should have seen how many trains/cars he can hold in one hand.

Back to our day out with Thomas, it was a bit of a drive to get to Squamish in time for our train ride at 10:30am. We were required to arrive an hour late which means 9:30am and had to park a bit of a distance and walk a bit to get into the event.

* The Fun starts here

* Kenzo and Kimi starts the day with a picture with the star

...then the train ride was next

* 20 minute ride with activities to keep the kids occupied

* Outside the train, activities were also numerous

* Indoor Attractions

* Thomas inside the gift shop

* Kimi looks like a Raggedy Ann Doll here :)

* Another Take with Thomas

* Topham Hatt Thomas

* A Last take with the poster

Behind the Red Velvet Cake

It was a day to celebrate a new Canadian, my sister in law, Sabrina.

She came for a short visit for her oath taking which will officially make her a Canadian Citizen.

...and because of that, I decided to try my hand once again in making a cake to commemorate the event.

Despite the kids running circles around me as I mix the cake batter and do the frosting while the cake was in the oven. I kept my fingers crossed because this is the second time I am attempting to do a two layer cake and with almost no practice in between, I wish that I will be able to pull off a cake that will be presentable and edible.

* Red (for Canada) Velvet Cake with Cream Cheese Frostings

I decided to run a short shower while Kenzo was still engrossed in his TV show, I was wondering why there was a long stretch of silence while I was drying up and found him cleaning up the beater.

* Portable Dishwasher

Celebration is never complete with a short meetup with friends over a meal. We chose Hanwoori Korean Restaurant for practical reasons. Sabrina's a busy gal and we had to meet her after the oath taking, before her flight for that same night!

* The Original Mommies- now complete

* After the meal...

*...and before we separate and said our goodbyes
