The Westin Resorts and Spa at Whistler

I used to take a picture from outside this hotel when we go to Whistler. I just like the way it looks...

* Hotel Facade

I finally got the chance to stay at their junior suite with friends who stayed a room apart from us. It was like a giant slumber party. Even Kimi had playmates in the form of Heidi's daughters, Aimee and Sherilyn, she was excited to go and knock in their room and share snack as well as have them stay in our room to play.

Aside from the room, we got a picturesque view as soon as we woke up.

* Mountain view from our room

We had our certificate for dinner at the reception.

* Certificate to a full dinner

...and a sweet  welcome

* Chocolate covered strawberries....

...which we devoured right away

* Oooh la la...

The Junior Suite (#763) was a good size for us with a King size bed and a sofa bed for additional sleeping areas.

* King Size bed for 4

* Entertainment Area

* Kitchenette with an oven inside

The kitchen was fully-equipped with plates and utensils conveniently placed when needed.

We loved the hotel room and especially the view. The location of the hotel is a given with everything a stone throw away. I would definitely come back if there is another good deal for this place.

Whistler Village's Kids Playground

One of the highlights for our kids is going to the Whistler Village's Kids Playground.

We decided to go there first and on our way to the playground we passed by the Whistler Blackcomb place wherein you can purchase a ticket to go up the gondola but there were already snow on the ground which the kids excitedly ran into and played.

* Aimee and Kimi... that is a ski area not a snow playground

* I don't think that is such a good idea....

* Tall ladies: Mel, Heidz and Twinny
Little Ladies: Kimi, Aimee and Sherilyn

Despite the cold, we still go some ice cream for the kiddos.

* Brrrr-eat!

* Moose

Finally! We arrived at the playground... soft grounds to walk in and accessible for both the young and the young at hearts to enjoy

For the more adventurous one...

* Sway Fun Glider

...and for the one who likes the conservative but fun as well

* Slides with a twist

* Logs as steps

* Making the conventional, unconventional

* Treehouse keeper

* Welcoming sight... :)

The adults kids were finally exhausted from all the running around...
we headed out for an afternoon nap before dinner

* Mommy Heidz and Mommy Mel

* Olympic rings...

* Little Olympians

* Cuddling up to the big bear

A Trek up Shannon Falls

The first leg of our trip was a short trek up the Shannon Falls.

4 kids, 4 adults. 1:1 Ratio; not bad :)

* Water and Rocks

Short Legs + Endless Chatter = Long time to get to the top :)

* Kimi and Aimee, chummy chummy

It was hard to get the kids to look at the camera and it was the best I could do that time...

* Little friends

* Papa and Kenzo Boy

it's what you see.

Sparky's Kutz for Kidz

We always did the haircut for our kids from birth. Kimi, no problem, but Kenzo? He can be a bit of a challenge once he hears the sound of the razor coming towards his head.

We decided to try our luck with Kenzo at a kid's parlor inside the mall and see how he will fare if there is a car as seat for him to play and a TV to keep his focus on the cartoon rather on the hair cutting activity.

* Colorful Facade for the Kid's Salon

* Kenzo all smiles

I think he was expecting a ride with this little airplane,
then...

* Why do I need an oversize bib for this?

then, the cutting started...

* So is the crying... Betrayed!

Kenzo was trying to get up most of the time he was getting cut and it was a good thing that the lady was doing her work really fast as we tried to hold on to Kenzo and try to make him as steady as we can.

* Kimi ready for her haircut

Kimi was just the opposite, she was so good getting her hair cut that it was finish in no time.

* Kenzo's haircut

This was the best that the lady could do despite the circumstance.

 * Kenzo happier to be off the bike
lest he be given another go at getting his haircut once again

Once done, we were given a memorabilia for their first hair cut away from home...

* Laminated hair with a special cards
with details of their 1st Hair-raising Adventure

There was a bit of time left before the mall close, and we decided to let them have a go at the nice play area inside the mall as a little reward for the hair-scapade.

A Candle for you...

One of my bestfriends in college sent me this photo...

"I lit a candle for you in prayer at church today."

It was nice to be remembered, it was nicer to be included in someone's prayers.
It means that I am in their hearts, as well as their mind.

Aaaaaw. Mega Touched.
Thanks Hannah :)
