Exploring Serendra, Taguig

Before I left for Canada, Serendra was a new hip place to go to. I was excited to see what was new 3 years after.

There were several new retail stores like MUJI which are brand-less quality items which I still find a bit on the expensive side. They reminded me of Canada's DAISO. A lot of the familiar brands back home like La Senza was also present as well as unfamiliar brands imported from Asian countries like Singapore... etc.

Watermania Fun

The mommies decided to do the play date in a different setting. A much more fun and wet setting... THE WATERMANIA... This Indoor Water Park is located in Richmond. Thanks to Mommy Glenda, we all got in free with her ingenious idea of printing the coupons she found in a Free Baby Mag... and Thanks to Mommy Sarah for the Swimmers diaper Kimi is sporting for her Watermania swimming day....

We were a bit late and with Sabrina and me getting heavier we opt to watch the fun from the pool side.... A snap here and there we were like poolside photographers covering a Baby Olympic event that the lifeguard had to tell us that we were on her way (he! he!)

Daddy Karl balances two babies on his arms... :) A practice for the new baby that is due to arrive on December...

Meanwhile, on the other side of the pool, Little Sam enjoys the water with Mommy Sarah and Daddy Steve...

Since we were a bit late, I had to take a picture of Mommy Glenda after the swim. Look at how cute Little Justin's sweater is... I am so excited for our Little K :)

It was a fun weekend for us having to see all our mommy friends...who says moms doesn't have fun? We just enjoy different things after the baby comes along... :)

The Picture Booth

When 2 moms and 2 babies get together, there are bound to be endless of pictures as a result...

It looks like a mini photo booth inside the train as the cousins, Sophie and Kimi posed side by side as the train goes on its way from the HMV location to it's Urban Behavior destination.

CUTE AS A BUTTON(s)

UH OH! THE BABY WRESTLES...

This is just how they show their love for each other, and just like sisters, they fight and make up just as easy as 1, 2, 3...

Weekend at White Rock

We spent Saturday at White Rock Pier. It was the perfect day to stroll hand in hand with a love one or even to push a stroller. It was a long drive compared to what we used to go to for a regular weekend but with Brian to tour around we didn;t mind driving the extra mile for him to see a new place...

An early love of books

I decided to go for a stroll with Kimi to the nearest library. I bought my netbook and decided to try getting my own library card for myself as well :)

I brought the new blanket and zipped them up to keep little Kimi warm. She was snuggled happily warm as a toast inside her blanket moving her feet up and down happily as I pushed her on our way to the library.

ALL WARM

In the library, I found a book nook with a built in chair with colorful pillows for added comfort. The yellow brick wall added to the homey feeling inside the warm interior of the public library. Kimi made her way toward the nook, went up into the built in and made herself right at home with the discarded book that was left on top of the seat.

Motor Munchkins @ Willingdon

Motor Munchkins at Willingdon is similar to Bonsor's Roaming Raskals with some different things to play with for the little ones.

They have 3 kiddie tales with play dough, art supplies and puzzles to keep kids preoccupied. Tricycles and a mini hockey court. Similar toys to Bonsor are the parachutes, toy cars, tunnels and big colorful block puzzles.

(Un)domestic Mommy Day 1

Today, my in laws left for a 10days well-deserved cruise to Las Vegas, US of A. I am left here to figure out on my own how it really is to be the captain of a ship... or in my case, a real stay at home mom. I am embarrassed to admit that I am undomesticated right up to more than a year of being married. This is the first time that I am left to cook for three meals a day for more than a week. I have always had help even when my mom in law left Canada to Manila last year...

I had a Mc Lunch today... It is pretty lonely to cook for one so I opt to walk my way to the nearest fastfood.

MC DONALDS

I went to the nearest Supermarket at Highgate Village (Save-on Food and Shoppers Drug Mart) for some ingredients for our dinner tonight. I also got some books from the library to fill my days since I don’t have people to talk to now while hubby is in the office. I know that there will be more work for me to fill up my time with but I still want some alone time for myself hehe!

For dinner, I chose a simple recipe called “Crispy Chilli-Garlic-Hoisen Chicken” which I got from the Multiply site of the “Diary of a professional eater”, I did not make the rice part of the recipe and I am so happy it was a success since hubby finished off the small batch of dish... At least, I did something edible (...and delicious!), I wonder what tomorrow’s dish would be...

The Village at Park Royale

We were thinking of what mall to go to this Sunday. Metrotown was obviously out of the questions because we can go there any time because of its distance from our house. K suggested Park Royale, South Mall since the last time we went there, and we went to the North mall. We were supposed to go early but Kimi decided to do an afternoon nap which shortens our malling time to 2hours. Malls here close early and Park Royale closes at 6pm. I didn’t complain since I didn’t like Park Royale North that much and was expecting the same on the South mall. I didn’t expect to discover a new lifestyle outdoor shopping area, The Village. To have an idea, it is the same as Whistler Village with their open air shops and coffee shops or in Manila; it sort of resembles the Serendra concept of stores. I really love the ambience.

GIANT PUMPKINS

WHOLE FOOD STORE FRONT

COLOR OF FALLS....

The Home Depot on The Village was really nice. It has a modern feel to it and they have a design consultation area for those who want help in designing their space. I also found 2 home decor shops during my ‘short’ stay. I got to see the 1st one which sells modern accessories and Umbra frames. I love their clocks and modern wall decors... There was a whole food supermarket that has huge pumpkin in their storefront in time for the fall/Halloween season. Too bad, time was running out and stores are closing... K promise that we will be returning soon...

Rainbow Connection

This was taken outside from our balcony recently after a slight pouring. 2 rainbows, 1 on top of the other. One very clear, the other almost fading. It was the first time i saw two rainbows in a sky and it was really awesome.

Picnic at Buntzen Lake

August 03, 2008, Saturday

We had a picnic at Buntzen Lake...

This was my first picnic in a place other than relative's house. The view was really spectacular and the weather was perfect for a day outdoor. Kimi loved watching people parading in their bathing attires... and childrens making sand castles near the water.

Our food? Yummy! Chicken barbeque grilled to perfection hehe! Soft and tasty. Salmon fillet with garlic and lemon which was cooked just right... I did not like the hamburger patties that much though... We also had kiam pung... (Sticky rice with veggies and some ground meat).

Kimi's menu? She had chicken casserole baby food for lunch and she got to sip some juice from the cantaloupe for dessert... :)

Far Away Places in Canada

The advantage of finally having a car is finally to be able to go places farther from our usual and look at new places...

July 20, 2008: We went to West Vancouver and had lunch at Trolls.
The view was really wonderful and the fish and chips at Trolls was good also... :)

July 27, 2008: Squamish and Whistler. Lunch at A&W

Shannon Falls at Squamish is a sight to behold. The climb was a bit tiring though and maybe it was sort of raining that time and pushing a stroller that made it more harder.

I was finally able to go and see whistler this time around. They had a bike ramp set up with lots of bikers strutting their stuffs instead of the skiing and snow activities that Whistler is famous for.
We went around the area and had ice cream from the fa-MOO-us "COW" which was hailed by readers digest as the best ice cream in Canada. I was only able to eat 2 spoonfuls of the Pecan Walnut since I was sharing it with Karl and that was the only ice cream left after I went inside to pay for a souvenir magnet for our future fridge (hehe!).
Will post whistler pics soon :)
