All my memories of my grandparents are of them together.
We lived quite far away from each other and for those few times that they do visit and stayed at our place. I was always amazed how they made being married look so natural and something that I'd like for myself. If one of them enters the room, you can definitely count on the fact that the other one would be there a few minutes later. They just love being in each other's company.
When I got word that my grandmother passed away. I immediately thought of my grandfather and how he must be feeling. A little over 2 weeks after her death, my grandfather also passed away. It was sad but I also felt that they just could't bear being apart and it was how they'd want it... together, right until the end.
Their memorial service was held today at Dallas, Texas. I wish I was there to be with them for the last time, I did a presentation for their memorial service/ viewing and it was really emotional doing this little video for them.
Thank you Grandparents for being such a role model,
A friend of mine shared this link to me through her blog
Apparently, this video has gone viral on facebook and a lot of people are made aware of the injustice being practiced in Uganda.
I didn't realize that this still happens. I watched a movie before that shows this kind of scenes but never thought that it was still being done in our age. Little children abducted. Little boys trained to be armies and little girls as sex slaves...
I hope that awareness will at least make people act. No help is small enough.
I had to do a video to capture the singing of these precious little carolers...
Good job to the teachers and to the kids for their hard work :)
Kimi was like a Christmas jukebox a few days before the performance. She was singing nonstop and doing actions, trying to practice....
I guess the stage fright got to her on the day of the singing because she completely forgot to do the actions on the first few songs.... Argh! Sigh*
I asked her afterward why she was not doing the actions she was practicing for days... she said:
"Mommy, because there was a lot of mommies looking at me..." Oh well :)
F.Y.I.: The crying accompaniment in the background is of course, Kenzo ;)
* Santa Claus is Coming to Town
You better watch out
You better not cry
You better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town
He's making a list,
Checking it twice;
Gonna find out who's naughty or nice.
Santa Claus is coming to town
He sees you when you're sleeping
He knows when you're awake
He knows if you've been bad or good
So be good for goodness sake
You better watch out
You better not cry
You better not pout
I'm telling you why
Santa Claus is coming to town
He's making a list,
Checking it twice;
Gonna find out who's naughty or nice.
Santa Claus is coming to town
Santa Claus is coming to town...

This is the song Kimi has been singing nonstop :) I guess this is her favorite.
* Holly Jolly Christmas
Have a holly jolly Christmas
It's the best time of the year
Well I don't know if there'll be snow
But have a cup of cheer
Have a holly jolly Christmas
And when you walk down the street
Say hello to friends you know
And everyone you meet
Ho ho the mistletoe
Hung where you can see
Somebody waits for you
Kiss her once for me
Have a holly jolly Christmas
And in case you didn't hear
Oh by golly have a holly jolly Christmas
This year

This is the part Kimi finally decided to do some actions... ha ha!
Better late than never!?
* Winter Wonderland
Sleigh bells ring, are you listening,
In the lane, snow is glistening
A beautiful sight,
We're happy tonight,
Walking in a winter wonderland.
Gone away is the bluebird,
Here to stay is a new bird
He sings a love song,
As we go along,
Walking in a winter wonderland.
In the meadow we can build a snowman,
Then pretend that he is Parson Brown
He'll say: Are you married?
We'll say: No man,
But you can do the job
When you're in town.
When it snows, ain't it thrilling,
Though your nose gets a chilling
We'll frolic and play, the Eskimo way,
Walking in a winter wonderland.

Deck the Hall was my favorite song they sang. Not because Kimi was the informer at the beginning of the song but they look so cute singing their solos and I just love the Fa La La La La actions... It was also funny how Kimi stood frozen in front after informing the audience of the next song, she was clearly waiting for the teacher`s cue to go back to her place.
* Deck the Halls
Deck the halls with boughs of holly,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Tis the season to be jolly,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Don we now our gay apparel,
Fa la la, la la la, la la la.
Troll the ancient Yule tide carol,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
See the blazing Yule before us,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Strike the harp and join the chorus.
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Follow me in merry measure,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
While I tell of Yule tide treasure,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Fast away the old year passes,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Hail the new, ye lads and lasses,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Sing we joyous, all together,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.
Heedless of the wind and weather,
Fa la la la la, la la la la.

For the next song, each kid has a little bell to shake while they sang
* Jingle Bell Rocks
Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock
Jingle bells swing and jingle bells ring
Snowin' and blowin' up bushels of fun
Now the jingle hop has begun
Jingle bell, jingle bell, jingle bell rock
Jingle bells chime in jingle bell time
Dancin' and prancin' in Jingle Bell Square
In the frosty air
What a bright time, it's the right time
To rock the night away
Jingle bell time is a swell time
To go glidin' in a one-horse sleigh
Giddy-up jingle horse, pick up your feet
Jingle around the clock
Mix and a-mingle in the jinglin' feet
That's the jingle bell
That's the jingle bell
That's the jingle bell rock

Feliz navidad was so cute. They looks so cute trying to sing out the Spanish lines of the song.
I am so happy I have you as my daughter. Couldn't ask for more. So sweet! Never lets a day past without her saying just how much she loves me.... Aaaaaw! I love you soooooooooooooo much
I got a call from a Canadian Baby picture company for a free sitting pictorial for Kenzo. They promised a free 5 x 7 calendar with the free sitting and although I know that I will end up buying a package they'd be offering for the pictures, I still grabbed at the chance of their offer and crossed my finger that the package would not cost an arm and a leg...
A preview of the pictorial :)The makeshift studio at home
Even with just a few days shared between them, Kimi felt the love from her Uncle Eric, and returns his affection...
She looks for Uncle Eric from time to time... Where's Uncle??!..then answers her own question with a "LA NA! (nowhere!)" with a cute gesture of both hands up with palms up...
Kimi is very caring at such a very young age... She knows that mommy always ask her to eat her animals (gummi bear vitamins...) and she returns the favor and reminds me to take my "amamals" as she fondly calls it... she even knows which container is mommy's, daddy's and her's :)
... Life is much more wonderful with such a sweet baby
Little Brandon. He is the center of Kimi's universe. She knows how fragile he is and always take care of how she acts when she is near him...
She looks for Little Brandon when he goes up to Nana's room and when she can't find Brandon, she picks up the pillows thinking that the baby is playing hide and seek with her. I explained to her that Little Brandon as well as Coco, Uncle and Sophie already went home to Manila...
