My Little Bee-bee

Little Bee is getting some sleep before the trick or treat...

I have always thought that Kimi is a pretty active baby and dressing her up to be a bumble bee fits her personality right to a T.

With Golden orange yellow wings and sparkles to complete her outfit. She clutches her little bee stuff toy which complemented her whole costume perfectly.

She was so excited going from store to store opening up her bag for it to be filled with goodies. She holds on to the bag of goodies so possessively...

Mommy follows consciously holding onto her bulging stomach but excited to be able to experience another trick or treat with her favorite little bee-bee...

Little Prince

Little Brandon. He is the center of Kimi's universe. She knows how fragile he is and always take care of how she acts when she is near him...

She looks for Little Brandon when he goes up to Nana's room and when she can't find Brandon, she picks up the pillows thinking that the baby is playing hide and seek with her. I explained to her that Little Brandon as well as Coco, Uncle and Sophie already went home to Manila...

Kimi's Favorite Playmate

When Sophie gets to spend a few months here in Canada, the happiest baby was Kimi. She would wake up and the first thing she wanted to do was go up and visit her cousin, Sophie. It's not always smooth sailing when they are together, they do fight and then make up, probably because of how close their age are but whenever they are together you would hear their laughter filling the house.

Now, when she is near the stairs, she pauses as if waiting for Sophie's voice to call out from upstairs then she goes up and looks at the living room wondering where Sophie has gone asking mommy time and again where Sophie is...

Till you see each other again, I hope you have fond memories of Kimi as well my little Sophie. Uncle Karl and Auntie Mel misses you a lot...

A Big shoe to fill...

Kimi got to know Uncle Brian a little bit more this last visit. She seems to have a natural liking to his uncle especially when he plays with both her and Sophie giving her the same attention as he bestows upon his big sister, Sophie. She doesn't feel left out at all...

She looks for "uncle" up until now demanding to know where all they are before she goes to sleep...

Sisters by heart... I sorely miss you

To my sister in law, sab, whom I felt a real connection much more than a friend but as a sister...

Thank you for all the things that you have shared with me... the stories, shared confidences, laughters....

... and thank you for leaving me with a book full of sisterly stories to tide me by until we see each other once again. Thank you for this oh-so-pretty gloves which I will be wearing to keep me warm this fall and winter.
Miss you so much :)

Goodbye for now Nana

Nana and Kimi has their own routine, every night before papa goes out for gym and to fetch mama, she stays with Nana for their time together and when mommy and daddy comes home to fetch Kimi, she always kisses nana and bids her goodnight.

Nana went home to Manila last October 11th to attend to the wedding of Uncle Kenny.

Kimi doesn't forgot her her "they time", she always looks for nana everyday expecting to see her but it's ok little Kimi, before you know it nana is coming back... and there is Shoti Kenzo you will be welcoming soon :) Don't be sad little one.

A Shower for Joy

I've never been to 2 showers in a day. And one shower was mine!

All I knew was that I am to attend one shower... This shower for Joy is the one I actually am expecting... :)

I hope you had a great time with your shower Mommy Joy... Thanks for the friendship. I am so lucky to have mommy friends to keep me from being insane with all the adjustments here in Canada.. Love you :)

An (Un)Expected Shower

It was pretty much a regular Saturday except for the fact that we were planning to go to an afternoon shower for our mommy friend, Joy in Surrey. I am quite sensitive by nature and I felt that something was not "so regular".... I don't want to be too presumptuous but I got a feeling that I am about to have a baby shower today.

SHOWER OF BABY GIFTS...
Signs of suspiciousness:

1. Karl normally asks us to stay at home when he goes to the mall early for supermarket with his mom, this time he was the one who asked me if we want to go with him.

My Loving Family

(Thanks Hubby for always wanting to surprise me...)

2. During our dinner at goldfish, there were some hints of seeing each other for today then eyes exchange guiltily that makes me feel that something was up (he he!)

3. I asked my sister in law if she wants to go to the mall and she opted to go to the PARK! ….hmmmm

4. I was asked to go to Sarah’s house (Another mommy friend who is going to Joy’s shower party) to pick up a gift for the reason that Sam2 was supposedly with a cold and can’t come to the party for later… (* I actually saw Sam2 Friday night and she looks A-ok, another hmmmm).

5. Karl usually demands me to let Kimi sleep in the afternoon so she would be in a good mood for the late afternoon’s event. He didn’t told me about the required sleep and it got me really suspicious.

6. Karl wanted to eat Italian for lunch (Karl and Italian?! Something is definitely up. Karl would NEVER invite me to dine at an Italian, he would even tell me that we just had Italian when we had International Buffet to get out of eating at an Italian restaurant….)

7. I was thinking that this was the last weekend to hold a shower for me. My mother in law is leaving the next day and it would be harder to hold a shower with no one to leave the babies to.

8. Karl asked me to clean our house and our room…( I was thinking: Could it be that the shower will be here and Karl is just trying to get me out of the house?!, I later learned that it was just a ruse so that I wouldn’t go to the front door and find Sab and her party stuffs on her way out he he!)

9. Karl actually wanted me to go out and accompany him to get the gift from Sarah. He insisted that I have to tell him where Sarah’s unit is that day so that when there is an emergency like me having contraction next time, he can find his way… (Uhmmm, why today?!)

FRIENDS I FOUND HERE IN CANADA

Seeds of doubt:

1. I was thinking that where would they be holding the baby shower, I am sure that it would definitely not be at Jo’s house (Joy’s place of shower), we don’t know her that well to get her venue (hmmmm)

2. There is no indication that there is an extra time to hold my baby shower (I didn’t know then that it was going to be lunch, and I was thinking that it is hard for people to do a double shower within the day….)

3. If it would be at Sarah’s, It would be too small to hold a large number of people (It hasn’t occurred to me that their place has an event room as well)

4. I have been pestering Karl to spill but he insisted that he doesn’t know anything… ( I usually get Karl to spill, he did spill though, he told me that my baby shower will be later afternoon at Surrey in his last effort to sway me from my suspicions…)

...and to my SISTER (in law), Sab

THANKS :)

Whatever it is, I am 100% happy of all the efforts that came from everyone to make it possible. Steve, Sarah and Sam for the Venue. To Brian for pumping up the balloons, Sab for the organizing a well thought theme (FILIPINO), she knows how much I am looking forward to going home) and little Sophie for her mere presence. Thanks to EJ and Les for the sounds J. To all the attendees who I know are quite hard to make schedules with but managed to come especially Steph who has work that day. I am so sorry because I didn’t know the detailed contributors on the preparations but I am really thankful to each and everyone of you… I am really touched to be able to experience a baby shower. LOVE YOU GUYS!

Sab's Farewell dinner...

It was really exciting to finally have a GNO (and 1 guy) once again... NO BABIES! YEY!

It is a simple pleasure of being out without having to carry diaper bags and attending to just myself. No need to feed any small mouths... I can finally be myself and not get interrupted by a small cry of frustration whenever my attention shifts to someone else ha ha! FREEDOM!

It would have been perfect if it wasn't just for the fact that this dinner was to get together for Sab's almost near departure of Vancouver, Canada. (Boo hoo...Sniff*)

It hasn't fully sink in yet....
Our dinner was at Goldfish, Yaletown. Where several celebrity sightings have been reported. I am actually excited to be in a room where a celebrity actually dined at... Even if I am not a Zac Efron and Vanessa Hudgkins fan, I can finally say that we have been in a common place he he!

We chose the early dinner special of three course for $25. A great value for such a nice ambience. Whatever the place what matters is that when we get together there were laughter and great conversation all around. A relaxing end to a week of working.

It was a new technology and naturally we wanted to meet the baby so so much so we decided to shell out our salaries for this 4d meeting...

The difference between the 3d and 4d ultrasound? It was just the movement. 3d are stills while the 4d has movement. I was happy that we did the 4d, K got to see for himself just how active his baby is. I kept on telling him that I am feeling an inner roller coaster this time around and I am happy that he can now see for himself because even the sonographer was commenting how she can;t get a picture of Baby K because of his constant movement.

BLEH!
...with all the prodding in my stomach
to keep his hands off from his face,
he finally relented but not before
Baby K finally stuck out his tongue

BORING!
...Baby K is getting bored from the inside
There is nothing to see here!!!

BOY!
Just like a typical man

Som Visao: A Haven for the stressed body

I got an early backache for my second pregnancy. It doesn't help that I do work at night on top of the house chores and taking care of Little Active Kimi.

I was really aiming for a massage but was surprised how much a prenatal massage costs... (around $65 for an hour and around $89 for a 45 minute session). I fould out though that I can actually claim a huge percentage from K's health benefit through his company. Alas! A SIGN!

I googled for a place that offers pre-natal massage which I could surely claim and found out that the health benefit we have only honors RMT (Registered Massage Therapist). I was actually scheduled for a massage with a CMT (Certtified Massage Therapist, Whew!), I cancelled and decided to go with Som Viseo because I specifically saw the name of Great West Life in their site.

Now, I just need those coupons to have an additional discount for my 4d ultrasound... They give out a maximum of $20 for referral and I actually reached the maximum through subscribing ($10), referral through K's address ($5) and Kimi ($5). MISSION ACCOMPLISHED :)

Relax time for Mama mio

It was a pampering day for me and K last weekend of October the 3rd

I was so excited to be able to experience the new 4d technology in order to see Little Karl in action and decided to bring Kimi along with us to make it a family affair. We have scheduled for a 1pm 4d Ultrasound, 2:30 Pre natal Massage for me and a 30min Regular Massage for K after me.

I was pleasantly surprised when I was given a gift card by the receptionist as soon as I uttered my name...

Thanks SAB!!!

It really took a chunk off our huge bill for that day hehe!!!

I couldn't have thought of a better pre-baby gift :)

Mommy's Little Helper

Growing up in Canada, Kimi learns to imitate mommy...

Aside from playing dress up like mommy, she loves to play Little Helper when mommy is doing her chores. She made up her mind to be a part of every chore that mommy has to do...

Be it washing the dishes, cooking or doing the laundry....

She wanted to deliver the folded clothes to the low stool by the stair for Nana to see when she wakes up the next morning...

It is really amazing how she is becoming her own person and establishing her own character... I am so thankful of each day that I get the chance to be with her when a lot of mommies don't have that option. I got to see all the progress and even if I am with her day to day, it still feels like she is still growing up way too fast...
